Every real estate firm in Mogadishu claims to be trusted. The word has lost almost all meaning. So let me explain what trust actually looks like — operationally, not poetically.

Trust is what you do when the deal is profitable but wrong

The real test of an agent isn't what they do when the paperwork is clean. It's what they do when the paperwork is slightly off and the commission is substantial.

I've turned down listings that would have paid us well because something in the chain of ownership didn't add up. That decision is invisible to the buyer. They never see it. But it's the entire foundation of the firm.

Trust is the answer you don't want to give

When a client asks me "is this a good investment?" and the honest answer is "not for you, not right now" — trust is saying it.

We've talked clients out of properties they were emotionally attached to. Some thanked us. Some were upset. All of them came back later — usually with more money and more confidence.

Trust is what your team does when you're not in the room

I can write any policy I want. What matters is whether our agents apply it on a Friday afternoon when a buyer is desperate and a seller is pushing. Trust is a culture, not a clause.

How a buyer can recognize real trust

• They tell you what could go wrong before they tell you what could go right.
• They show you documents before they show you photos.
• They give you time to think and don't punish you for using it.
• They have written processes, not just promises.
• They are the same firm in person, on WhatsApp, and on paper.

My standard

I'd rather lose a client to a competitor than lose a client to a bad decision. That's the line. Everything else is marketing.
